Venture north!

Despite the sub-zero weather I ventured into northern NH last week.

I hung a show of my paintings at the Tillotson Center in Colebrook, NH which will be there for the month of February. It's wonderful to see the cultural side of life in a small town. Thank you to the several folks who hosted me overnight, helped me hang the work, and tracked down an errant painting. Small town values means all hands on deck all the time: a small work force is a busy one. I thank them for welcoming me to the arts community so warmly.

Speaking of warmth, a little bit of that may have made snowmobiling a little more comfortable! When you start out at 2 degrees

F, it doesn't take much to freeze your hands to the throttle (no worries about the other hand, no one uses the brake!) But once again I learned that the fear of freezing can be more paralyzing than necessary. 17 layers will keep you warm enough to enjoy the crystal clean air and the unique light and shadows found in snow. The landscape is completely different when covered in deep winter snow. So while some of you may opt to head south, I'm still finding plenty to paint when I venture north
